American Express - Nurture

A series of mixed media social media films for American Express, combining live action with hand-drawn 2D animation to bring everyday family moments to life.





Mixing live action with 2D animation is one of the most satisfying things we do at Hocus Pocus, and this campaign for American Express is a favourite example. Made for Digitas, the films show how everyday spending on your Amex can lead to some special family rewards.

A fantastic young actor, a hand-drawn crab and a puffing red train made this a really joyful project to work on. The illustration style is warm and playful, sitting naturally alongside the live action footage rather than fighting it.
