Why Choose Hocus Pocus?

We’re a fiercely independent studio, meaning we have the freedom to choose projects that excite and inspire us. We used to be part of a bigger agency but set up on our own to pursue our own creative goals rather than just creating flashy stuff to make people buy things they don’t really need.

Since we started in 2019, we’ve survived clients going bust, COVID-19, rent hikes, inflation, inept governments, and soaring interest rates. During that time, we’ve made over 100 films, written and produced our first IP project, eaten thousands of burritos, and hopefully created some work that’s done some good too.

We’re a medium-sized studio by London standards, with around 20 people at our HQ in Soho and a similar number working remotely. We’re really proud of these wonderful, talented humans who allow us to create, storyboard, model, animate, light, texture, and composite our way to happiness.

Animation Studio – Hocus Pocus Team

Collaboration is a big thing for us. The variety we crave means we love to work with specialist directors and artists on individual projects. A great example of this is our recent collaboration with Troy Browne for UNHCR. Troy is a fabulously talented director with a distinctive style, and he worked closely with our in-house illustrators and animators over several months to bring this 4-minute film to life.

There are some great animation studios in London, and we’re proud to be among them, always striving to improve on what’s come before. We do this because we love it, and it's that passion that drives us to deliver outstanding work. But more than that, we believe in enjoying the journey. When you work with Hocus Pocus, you’re not just getting top-tier animation; you’re partnering with a team that values creativity, collaboration, and a bit of fun along the way. We hope to make every project an enjoyable and inspiring experience for everyone involved.
