TV Graphics Production
30-Second Summary
The right graphics set the mood of a programme, adding impact through title sequences, idents, and broadcast packages. At Hocus Pocus Studio, we design and produce TV graphics that give programmes style, clarity, and personality.
Introduction
Hocus Pocus Studio is a BAFTA-nominated London animation studio specialising in TV graphics production. We work with broadcasters, streamers, and film companies to create distinctive title sequences, broadcast graphics, and idents.
Whether it’s an opener for a factual documentary, a graphics package for primetime TV, or a crafted sequence for film, we bring together design and storytelling to make programmes stand out.
Case Studies
History, The Interesting Bits! (Nat Geo / Impossible Factual)
We were commissioned by Impossible Factual and National Geographic to create the animation for History, The Interesting Bits! — a factual series exploring the quirky side of history.
With eight episodes and around ten minutes of animation per episode, our team delivered a style inspired by Monty Python but reimagined with a clean, modern look. The project relied on imaginative illustration and quirky animation to fill the gaps where archive footage wasn’t available, giving the series its own distinctive character.

The Aftermath (Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions)
For the feature film The Aftermath, starring Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgård, we created a cel-animated sequence in the style of late 1920s Disney.
The scene, set in post-war Hamburg, shows the family bonding over an old film reel projected at home. We produced frame-by-frame animation to capture a nostalgic, authentic feel that added warmth and emotional weight to the story.

Quick Questions
What are broadcast graphics?
Broadcast graphics are the on-screen visuals that support and enhance TV programmes, including title sequences, idents, lower thirds, and graphics packages.
What is the difference between a title sequence and an ident?
A title sequence introduces a programme with music, animation, or design that sets the tone. An ident is a short graphic or animated logo used by broadcasters to identify the channel.
Why are TV graphics important?
Strong graphics help define a show’s identity, set the mood, and keep audiences engaged. They also make information clearer and add polish to the viewing experience.
Do you create graphics for both film and TV?
Yes. We produce TV graphics for broadcasters and streamers as well as bespoke sequences for feature films, working in both motion graphics and traditional cel animation styles.
Can you handle large-scale projects?
Absolutely. For History, The Interesting Bits! we delivered over 80 minutes of animation across eight episodes, managing a large team of artists, animators, and compositors.
